In Memory of Rev. Glen Moehring

Glenn Earl Moehring, 82, of Bandera, passed away at home on May 22, 2021.  He was born in Del Rio, Texas to Earl and Bertha Piel Moehring on January 28, 1939.  He married the lovely and kindhearted Patricia Louise Harrer on September 1, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio.

He graduated from Gatesville High School and earned a degree from Texas Lutheran College and went on to Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio and graduated with a Master of Divinity.  He planted and served churches at Hope Lutheran in Buckholts, Faith Lutheran in Taft, Lord of Life Lutheran and Good News Lutheran in San Antonio, Grace Lutheran in Bandera, and served as an interim in Buda and Cuero, Texas.  He loved camping, hiking, time with his family, building, creating, and passionately serving and introducing others to Christ in every aspect of his life.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and son Wayne. Glenn is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Beth and her husband Bill Cooper, son Chris and his wife Christina Moehring, son Shawn and his wife Kim Moehring, and son Nate and his wife Rebecca Moehring, sister Elaine Haehnel; and grandchildren Brendan Cooper, Josh, Audrey, Grace, Abby, Hannah, Ben, Ginny and Joel Moehring.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, June 27th at Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera Texas with a reception following at the Moehring residence immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your preferred cancer organization or Grace Lutheran Church.   Glenn’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, Alamo Hospice, and all their wonderfully supportive close friends.

The family invites you to send condolences at www.grimesfuneralchapels.com by selecting the “Send Condolences” link.

We remember Rev. Moehring's family in our prayers and trust that the promise of the Resurrection is true and sure.
