Save the Date - Fall Leaders Convocation

Encuentro: Leading from Liminal Spaces - November 1st, 2022

The Fall Leaders Convocation is back! This year we'll have one convocation occurring simultaneously in three locations; Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. Together we'll explore liminal spaces, aided by the wisdom of Rev. Dr. Jay Alanis. The specific locations of the convocation are yet to be determined. Keep your eyes open for more information as it becomes available and for opportunities to engage Encuentro before the convocation itself.

Southwestern Texas Synod Fall Grants

Deadlines for both the Transformational Ministry Grant and Tiemann Leadership Grant are coming up! Is your congregation, conference, ministry team, working group, or task force wanting to implement a new project to enable people to experience God's transforming grace? Or maybe you've got a dream about a project to enhance the leadership in our synod? Now is the time to put it to paper, or even just to begin the dreaming process.

Applications for both grants are due October 1st and will be reviewed and awarded November 30th.

Graduated Seniors Check-In

Did you or your congregaiton bless graduating seniors at the start of the summer?

Now is an excellent time to check-in with those young adults! Something as simple as a text, email, or phone call can make all the difference in the world. It could even look like a more formal ministry sponsoring those who have recently graduated from high school or even college. Not sure if your congregation had senior high grads? Ask your parents, youth directors, and grad parents if there have been recent high school graduates and how your congregation might connect with them.
