Register Now! - Fall Leaders Convocation

Encuentro: Leading from Liminal Spaces - November 1st, 2022

The Fall Leaders Convocation is back!

This year we'll have one convocation occurring simultaneously in three locations; Triumphant Love Lutheran Church in Austin, Zion Lutheran Church in San Antonio, and Galilean Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi. Together we'll explore liminal spaces, aided by the wisdom of Rev. Dr. Jay Alanis and local conversation facilitators. The main site will be Zion Lutheran Church in San Antonio, where Rev. Dr. Jay Alanis will be speaking live and in person.

Please register for this event here. All locations will use the same registration form and have a place to indicate which location you intend to attend or if you will be joining us online.

Keep your eyes open for more information as it becomes available and for opportunities to engage Encuentro before the convocation itself.

Anti-Oppression Training - Free Offering

The synod Inclusivity, Diversity, and Equity team would like to invite you to attend the synod's Anti-Oppression Training. This training is designed to offer some basic vocabulary, history, and allyship models as we strive to better live out our baptismal promises and love our diverse neighbors. Rather than focusing on a single topic of oppression or marginalized community, this training aims to offer a broad base foundation for future learning in more specific areas.

The training is available on Saturday, October 15th and Wednesday, October 19th from 9 am to 3 pm via Zoom. There are several opportunities for breaks throughout the training and a lunch break over which we have the opportunity for some group discussion. While this would typically be offered at a price, we are pleased to offer these two dates at no cost. Register here.
