Strategic Planning

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The synod’s Strategic Planning Task Force thanks all who participated in the electronic survey and the conversations at Pre-Assembly Conference meetings, deaneries, and the 2017 Synod Assembly.  The raw data from many of those meetings can be seen below.

The Task Force met on June 19 to review the results of those conversations and surveys and begin to collate them into a future focus and goals for the synod.  That process will continue through the summer months, with a proposal to be presented to the Synod Council in September and shared across the synod in the fall.

Please keep the Strategic Planning Task Force in your prayers as we seek the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and guidance.

In Christ,

The Southwestern Texas Synod Strategic Planning Task Force

Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Attached is a document approved by the Synod Council earlier this month which sets out the Purpose Statement as part of the new strategic plan for the Southwestern Texas Synod.  The first two pages gives a history of the process, the third page a description of the discernment, and the last page provides the skeleton of the new strategic plan.  The Strategic Planning Task Force and synod staff will next begin work on goals in each of the twelve quadrants listed.  More will be shared in conference meetings in the spring as part of the pre-identification process of candidates for the bishop’s election in May.

Peace,
Bp+  Ray Tiemann
