Welcome from Bishop Tiemann

We are the Southwestern Texas Synod, a region of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our synod supports and strengthens 165 Southwestern Texas congregations and worshiping communities that go forth to share God’s love for all people, make disciples of Jesus Christ, and develop and help provide leaders for Christ's ministry. The synod works to expand the sharing of the gospel through new worshiping communities, existing congregations, and other settings, including college and university campus ministry sites.
